Generate a PDF file for a product

Swiftly create PDF documents in a standard format

You must be given explicit permission to generate PDFs.
Managed roles having access: System admin, PIM admin and PIM write.

Bluestone PIM offers a feature to create PDF documents for products which can be used for sharing detailed product information in a standardized format. 

Do the following to generate a PDF for a single product:

1. Click the relevant product from the grid to open its details panel.
2. Click the 3-dots menu on top and select Generate PDF.
   
   
   
   The Generate PDF page is presented:
   
   
3. Select for which Context(s) to create the PDF.
4. Select the relevant Template.
   
   

   Tip! If you have access and need to edit or create a new template, click the cogwheel icon. Please see Manage PDF templates for details.

5. A preview of the PDF for the product you selected is presented.
   Optionally click the arrow button to the right of the Preview field to Download the preview.
6. Click Generate to start the process.

The PDF generation job is now added to the queue and can be tracked from the System monitor. 

When the job is finished, the PDF file is linked to the product and can be found in the Assets tab. The asset is labeled with the PDF template's name:
